Groupe Sovima is committed to respecting your privacy.

To ensure that your privacy is respected, Groupe Sovima has adopted a code for the protection of personal information. The purpose of this code is to establish responsible and transparent practices in the management of personal information, in all our dealings with our customers. The Code has been drafted in accordance with federal and provincial legislation and industry practices. Your information helps us to serve you better.

We only want to know what’s strictly necessary.

We only collect personal information that is strictly necessary for the proper performance of our work. We do not share your information with anyone. We do not sell or transmit any personal information to outside organizations.

We only keep your information for a limited time.

Groupe Sovima retains personal information only as long as necessary for its use, or as required by law. Your information is then destroyed, or depersonalized, i.e. reduced to simple statistical elements with no possible link to you. In all cases, your personal information is never reused for purposes other than those expressed here, unless we obtain your prior explicit consent. Your information is protected from theft and prying eyes. Your information is kept exclusively for us.

Your consent is essential.

Groupe Sovima always asks for your authorization before collecting, using or transmitting your personal information, except in certain exceptional situations or when required by law. These include emergency situations, where your life, health or safety may be at risk. They may also involve legal situations, such as meeting our statutory obligations, collecting a debt, or complying with a subpoena, warrant or other court order.

You have access to all your information at all times.

Upon simple request and presentation of sufficient proof of identity, Groupe Sovima can provide you with a list of the personal information it holds about you, as well as details of its use. This information will be communicated to you in a legible and comprehensible manner, within a reasonable timeframe, and at little or no cost. You may also request an update of your personal information at any time to make corrections if necessary. You may withdraw your initial consent to the collection and use of your personal information, subject to legal or contractual restrictions and to the extent that such withdrawal is reasonable in the circumstances.

We treat your comments and complaints as a priority.

If you believe that Groupe Sovima has not complied with the principles set forth in its Privacy Code, you may file a complaint with the person responsible for enforcing the Code within our company. Groupe Sovima will investigate all complaints regarding compliance with its Code and will take appropriate measures, including, if necessary, amending the Code or its practices. In all cases, you will be informed of the outcome of the investigation into your complaint. If you are not satisfied with Groupe Sovima’s response to your complaint, you may contact the Privacy Commissioner of Canada, 112 Kent Street, Place de Ville, Tower B, 3rd Floor, Ottawa, Ontario, K1A 1H3.

Please do not hesitate to contact our Privacy Officer Sophie Latendresse for further information on our privacy practices.
